About

Why The Presage exists

The Presage is built independently — no investors, no ad model, no one to answer to but the people who use it. It exists because of one conviction:

In a world where AI can write, summarize, and answer almost anything, the rarest human skill left is judgment— the ability to look at a messy, uncertain world and read what happens next. It's a skill everyone claims and few can measure. And unlike a degree or a title, it's something you can actually prove — one honest forecast at a time.

Judgment has many parts. We measure the most measurable one — how well you call uncertain outcomes — and help you get better at it.

Most learning is textbook learning: memorize, recite, forget. But the real world doesn't hand you a textbook. It hands you incomplete information, competing pressures, and a decision that has to be made anyway. That's the skill that actually matters — in a career, in markets, in life — and almost nobody teaches it.

The Presage teaches it the only way it can be learned: by doing. Every day, you forecast real events across the world. You commit to a view before anyone else's is visible, then find out where you were sharp and where you were overconfident as the world unfolds. Over time, you don't just follow the news — you learn to read it, and you build calibrated instincts that make you genuinely better at reading the world than someone who only read about it.

The AI here isn't your enemy — and it isn't your co-pilot either. You make every call alone; only afterward does its reasoning appear, as something to spar with and learn from. That's why we keep it hidden until you've committed: a view you can only form by copying was never really yours. Seeing where your read and the AI's diverge — and who the world proves right — is where the sharpening happens.

You don't need a finance background or a forecasting habit to start. If you've never made a real call before, this is the place to learn — one question, one honest guess, one lesson at a time.

We're building this carefully and for the long term — a few things done genuinely well, rather than everything at once. If you're here early, thank you. Your forecasts, your questions, and your feedback are shaping what this becomes. Tell us what's missing. We're listening.
