Privacy Policy

• Account data: the email address you sign up with, the username generated for your public profile, and — if you use Google sign-in — basic profile information Google shares (such as your name and email).
• Authentication data: a hashed password (if you use email/password) and session tokens, managed by our auth provider.
• Forecasting activity: your predictions, the reasoning you write, scores, streaks, and your Presage Rating.
• Usage & analytics data: pages viewed and interactions, collected via Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity (which may record anonymized session interactions such as clicks and scrolling).
• Technical & security data: IP address and basic device/browser information, used for security, rate-limiting, and bot prevention.
• Notifications & preferences: your push notification subscriptions, email/notification preferences, your willingness-to-pay poll answer (if you respond), and your profile privacy setting.
• Share cards: the shareable images and public pages you generate for your resolved calls.
• Cookies & local storage: as described below.

• to provide and operate the Service and authenticate you;
• to compute and display your track record, ratings, and the leaderboard, and to power your public credential;
• to send transactional emails (sign-up confirmation, password reset, and forecast-result notifications) via our email provider;
• for security, fraud and bot prevention, and rate-limiting (including via bot-protection challenges);
• to understand aggregate usage and improve the product; and
• to comply with legal obligations.

Your handle, Presage Rating, rank, and resolved calls may be shown publicly — on your profile, the rankings, and any share cards you create — unless you set your profile to private in your account. We never make your email, real name, or Google profile data public.

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (to provide the Service you request); legitimate interests (to secure the Service, prevent abuse, and understand and improve the product, balanced against your rights); consent (for non-essential cookies and analytics where required, which you may withdraw at any time); and legal obligation where processing is required by law. For users in India, we process personal data in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 on the corresponding bases, including your consent and the legitimate uses it permits.

We share data with trusted providers who process it on our behalf or under their own terms to run the Service. We do not sell your personal data or your individual forecasts. We may publish aggregated, de-identified statistics — such as crowd-versus-AI accuracy — that cannot identify you.

• Supabase — database, authentication, and data storage;

• Cloudflare — bot protection (Turnstile) and content delivery;
• Upstash — the store that backs rate-limiting;
• Resend — transactional email delivery;
• Zoho Mail — our support inbox (hello@);
• Browser push services — the push service your browser or operating system uses to deliver push notifications you opt in to;
• Google — sign-in (Google OAuth) and analytics (Google Analytics 4); and
• Microsoft Clarity — usage analytics.

We use essential cookies for authentication, sessions, security, and your theme — these are required for the Service to function and always load. We use analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity) only if you accept them. On your first visit we ask you to choose “Accept analytics” or “Essential only”; analytics do not load until you accept. You can change your choice anytime via “Cookie settings” in the footer.

We keep your account and forecasting data while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service and maintain the public credential. Analytics data is retained according to each provider’s settings. We may retain limited data longer where required for legal, security, or dispute-resolution purposes. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep certain records longer. Aggregated, de-identified statistics may remain.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export (portability), restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on it. This includes the right to delete your account and associated personal data.

To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@thepresage.co (and, where available, use in-app account settings). We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law. Note that your username and forecasting record form part of a public credential; deleting your account removes them from public view.

We operate from India and use providers that may store or process data in other countries, including the United States and the EU. Where personal data is transferred across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy basis) where required by law.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls, hashed credentials, and bot- and rate-limiting protections. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Service is not directed to, and is not intended for, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we learn we have collected such data, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us at hello@thepresage.co.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the “last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
